Iowan Cornfields

A weekend of cornfields; that what I saw the most of on my trip into Iowa. Erica and I went south to the Walker, Iowa area to visit my college friend and former business partner who is now teaching with his wife at a private boarding school there.

The lifestyle is fascinating. There is little to nothing for miles around this small community of teachers, staff and students who comprise the Cono Christian School campus. And yet, on the campus is everything they need to survive. It’s like a miniature city unto itself (sort of).

I’m so happy for them both. They have jobs that are tailored to their specific skills and abilities, they have a beautiful place to live and they have a community of people who are just as excited as Matt and Chanel are about what they are doing. Oh, and they just had their first son, Jonathan. What more could they need?
