Christianity is Love

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again if for no other reason than to remind myself. Christianity is Love providing for those hurting and needy in this world. Brennan Manning states it unequivocally—

“When preoccupation with my personal salvation drugs me into such insensitivity that I no longer hear the beating of the lost sheep, then Karl Marx was right: Religion is the opiate of the people.”
– The Signature of Jesus, page 122.

Christianity is not a set of rules and rites, a dogma or a system of thought. Rather, it is showing the love of Christ and his Father to those around me; those directly around me. There is nothing more.
