Art Show Time

26 October 2005 23:33:31

Preparing for an art show is something of a struggle. I mean, I love it. I truly do. It just always seems to be the last month before a show and I’m busting my butt to get all the details wrapped up and the work completed with time remaining to really critique what I’ve done. That just never seems to happen. Instead, I’m always working right up to the deadline, hanging work that is still wet with fresh paint and running completely on a caffeine and adrenaline induced high for the duration of the hanging.

It is so worth it though. The feeling of accomplishment after the fact is incomparable in terms of work projects or life “achievements.” Okay, so maybe it’s not quite as exciting as climbing Everest, but it’s still a great time.

By the way, I guess this would be the first formal announcement about the show. I’ll have a number of prints and paintings (all abstract, of course) and Mandy Timm, my co-conspirer will be showing a few large 3D pieces (read—installation, but not quite) and a few 2D mixed media pieces. The Opening is on December 2 from 5-7 in the evening at The Pump House. We’d love to see you there.
