Laxcru.org Goes Live!
5 September 2005 19:35:59
Laxcru.org, the online home for Campus Crusade of Christ in La Crosse, Wisconsin went live today with a brand new site whipped up by yours truly. The old site was about as comprehensive as frozen pizza is a good dinner—all the basics were there, but it was still missing any real “nutritional value” or flavor for that matter.
The new site features a backend based on WordPress and a number of handy plug-ins all rolled up together and baked along with a few of my own secret seasonings to feature a managed events calendar and static pages of content that are easily updated in the usual WordPress fashion.
Over all the site came together rather nicely. Still to do are a customized author/admin system (WordPress’s author levels are just too inflexible), addition of photos and other content to a few of the static pages and maybe a few tweaks to the over all design.
Thus concludes my work for and the life of Essentia Studios, LLC, my now acquired by another web design shop-shop. I’ve learned a ton, cried a little and had a blast doing it all. Essentia Studios, LLC signing off.
